Meet the team

Andrea rezendes
Speech-Language Pathologist
I completed a bachelor's degree in Psychology and Linguistics in 2017 at McGill University, followed by a master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology in 2019. It was through deepening my knowledge in linguistics and volunteering with a speech-language pathologist that I discovered my passion for this profession, which combines language sciences, helping relationships, and creativity.

Since 2021, I have been working independently in private practice, with a child-centered approach rooted in close collaboration with families, childcare settings, and schools. In response to growing needs and to help reduce wait times, I made the decision to build a team of speech-language pathologists who share my values. Together, we are committed to offering warm, personalized, and evidence-based care.
Creative, attentive, and dedicated, I strive to create a trusting environment where every child can progress at their own pace, while having fun.

I am a fully bilingual speech-language pathologist (French and English) and provide services tailored to preschool and school-aged children, as well as adolescents. I work with children who have developmental language disorder (DLD), articulation or phonological disorders, dyslexia, dysgraphia, stuttering, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), or intellectual disability. I also have experience in assessing and supporting children with complex communication needs using augmentative and alternative communication (AAC).

A little about me: I’m also the mom of two energetic young boys, which has given me a different perspective on child development!

Amélia Gaul
Speech-Language Pathologist
It was during my undergraduate studies in psychology that I discovered a true curiosity for the field of speech-language pathology. A course on language development in children sparked my interest in language and its complexity. My experience as a camp counselor for a child with autism further strengthened my desire to help and support children and their families. Speech-language pathology brings together many of my interests and qualities: helping relationships, clinical reasoning, creativity, versatility—and of course, the joy of play!

During my master’s degree in speech-language pathology, I had the opportunity to train in a variety of settings: in a CLSC working with young children, in a hospital, in a school environment, and finally in a rehabilitation center. These experiences allowed me to work with a diverse range of clients.
In addition, as part of my master’s program, I conducted a research project titled “Technological Tools to Support Struggling Readers,” which deepened my knowledge of written language and fostered my intellectual curiosity.

I then worked as a speech-language pathologist in a rehabilitation center with preschool and early school-aged children (ages 4 to 8). This experience helped me develop my skills in working with children with developmental language disorder (DLD) and/or speech sound disorders (SSD).

I specialize in working with preschool and school-aged children who present with language difficulties, oral and/or written language disorders, as well as speech sound disorders (SSD).

I look forward to working with you!

Hafsa Bouâbid
Speech-Language Pathologist
My name is Hafsa, and I am a recently graduated speech-language pathologist with a professional master’s degree in speech-language pathology from the University of Montreal. I also completed a bachelor’s degree in psychology as well as a certificate in early childhood and family studies—two programs that have long nurtured my interest in the global development of the child.

Before my master’s, I had the opportunity to work as a language stimulation technician, an experience that confirmed my passion for the preschool population. It is a clientele I particularly love working with: I love playing, laughing, exploring, and building connections with toddlers! I have always enjoyed talking (a lot!), moving, and engaging with energy and curiosity… Speech-language pathology is both a heartfelt and thoughtful choice for me.

During my training, I had the chance to complete several diverse internships, working with toddlers, school-aged children, adolescents, and adults, notably in school and hospital settings. These experiences allowed me to develop a kind, playful, and individualized approach tailored to each child and their unique situation.

I am also trilingual (French, English, Arabic), which enables me to adapt my interventions to children from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds—an aspect of the work that I hold especially close to my heart.

Speech-Language Pathologist
I have always been drawn to professions that combine science and meaningful human connection. While studying nursing at the University de Montreal, I discovered speech-language pathology and was inspired by the unique combination of critical thinking and creative, play-based ways it helps clients reach their goals. This passion led me to pursue a master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology at the University of Ottawa.

Throughout my graduate training, I had the opportunity to gain experience in diverse practice settings, including hospitals, schools, private practice, and rehabilitation centers. These experiences allowed me to support a wide range of clients, from preschool-aged children to adults with a variety of different needs.
I especially gained experience working with children who have developmental language disorder (DLD), autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and those with complex communication needs using augmentative and alternative communication (AAC).
Fully bilingual in French and English, I am committed to providing accessible and personalized services to preschool and school-aged children and families.
I look forward to supporting clients through engaging and compassionate care!

Laurence carbonneau
Speech-Language Pathologist
Graduated with a Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology from the Université de Montreal, I first worked for several years as a respiratory therapist before turning to speech-language pathology. This initial career gave me a deep understanding of the medical field, and particularly the respiratory system. These insights now inform my interest in orofacial-myofunctional disorders (OMD), especially given the many connections with breathing, swallowing, and conditions such as sleep apnea.
My professional and academic journey has allowed me to explore a variety of practice settings and to work with a clientele of all ages.
Driven by a passion for learning and professional growth, I continuously pursue development opportunities to provide accurate, up-to-date, and personalized interventions for each of my clients.
With humor, kindness, and attentive listening, I am committed to providing a supportive environment where every person feels understood and valued.
